How Do I Disinfect My Yoga Studio?

If you want to know how to keep your yoga studio clean and disinfected while being efficient with your time, you have come to the right place. We have all had to deal with a dirty studio at one point or another, and in this article, we will outline some things that you can do to help keep your yoga studio clean and disinfected, while saving you time and money.

It is always best to start with the basics in this order to not allow for cross-contamination: clean the floor, yoga mats, and props.

Tip #1: Yoga Studio Floors

How Do I Clean A Yoga Studio Floor?

There are two options to clean and disinfect your floors. The first involves using “conventional” cleaning with a mop, cleaner, and disinfectant. The second uses a high temperature and pressure steamer to clean and disinfect.

Conventional Cleaning- Use an eco-friendly all-purpose cleaner such as our EcoCleanFit Naturesol and disinfectant along with a bucketless microfiber wet mop such as our EcoCleanFit Mop System. Using microfiber will allow the mop to pick up germs better than any other type of cloth, while an all-purpose no-rinse cleaner will break down dirt and germs for the microfiber wet mop to pick up easier. After cleaning, apply a no-rinse disinfectant like PureGreen24 or hypochlorous acid with a microfiber wet mop pad and let naturally dry.

Steam Cleaning- Use a commercial-grade steam cleaner like the Vapamore MR-1000 to clean and disinfect with just water. This eliminates the use of any chemicals in cleaning your yoga studio while allowing savings. Use the microfiber wet mop head of the steam cleaner to steam, clean, disinfect your floor, and then allow it to dry. The microfiber wet pad will pick up contaminants while the 280 (F) degree steam pushed out at 90 psi will kill 99.9 percent of microbials.

Tip #2: Yoga Mats

How Do I Disinfect a Yoga Mat?

Using a microfiber cloth, clean with a no-rinse all-purpose cleaner like EcoCleanFit Naturesol. After wiping clean, apply an eco-friendly disinfectant like PureGreen24 or hypochlorous acid and allow it to dry. Many disinfectants are not made for non-porous material and will often take time to break down the material with its harsh quaternary ammonium ingredients. Make sure to wipe down if other types are used after allowing it to sit on the mat for 10 minutes.

Steam Cleaning- Use a commercial-grade cleaner like the Vapamore MR-1000 various attachments to quickly clean and disinfect your mates. First, use a wet microfiber to wipe up any dirt and other contaminants. Then use the steamer, and the dry steam will eliminate any wiping down after use.

Tip #3: Yoga Props

Steam Cleaning- Use a commercial-grade cleaner like the Vapamore MR-1000 various attachments to quickly clean and disinfect your mates. First, use a wet microfiber to wipe up any dirt and other contaminants. Then use the steamer, and the dry steam will eliminate any wiping down after use.
